The Da Vinci Code
Dear Friends,
Much has been publicized about the Da Vinci Code,
which seems at least to me to be Much Ado about Nothing.
This book is clearly fiction, the fact that it
Tries to imply that it is derived from “factual sources”
(that are fragmented and Speculative at best),
still leaves this work as nothing more than ...Well… FICTION.
This book/movie hasn’t any real theology, concise truth,
or even a logical conclusion of its supposed revelation,
why should we be concerned?
I would be opposed if this body of work was labeled as nonfiction,
but it isn’t, It would not, could not, in its best efforts, survive
the truth of the facts, which is why it is labeled FICTION.
Are we as Christians so weak in the faith that our foundation can be
rocked by a work of fiction? NAY, (A BIG NO), why, because those
who truly read and know the Gospel already know the truth,
theology and history of the events in question.
We have nothing to fear because the gospel speaks for itself,
the Word of GOD Needs not to be defended, it does very well on its
own (presuming one would ACTUALLY read it).
If some people wish to believe a work of fiction to use as a foundation to build their belief system, they are certainly entitled to do so; but I would really hate to be in their proverbial shoes as their foundation will be dispelled with truth, and facts. If Christians are concerned about People who don’t know Christianity raising, and asking questions, let them ask and raise questions. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior never stopped anyone from asking questions.
Or for being inquisitive, he simply answered with the gospel of peace; which I might add made even his most devout opposers unable to mount a rebuttal. We have REAL matters to contend with, homelessness, broken homes, no health care, Darfur, true human dilemmas in tragic, unbearable situations which deserve our most sincere efforts.
Our Audio Online Sermons will be back online within two weeks.
Sorry for the delay as we reconfigure our computers.
